Islamabad: Members of the business community and officials of the ministries linked to economic activities on Monday strongly criticized the FBR and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for what they described as an unjustified harassment of investors.

According to the details, criticism appeared during a high -level meeting of the committee by the Prime Minister to prevent unjustified intervention by state employees. The meeting was chaired by a special assistant to the Prime Minister in revenue, Aaron Akhtar Khan.

The meeting focuses on facing the challenges facing industrialists and investors, and business leaders have witnessed serious concerns about unnecessary interventions by FBR and FIA and regional administrations.
The session was attended by representatives of the main chambers of commerce and industry from all over the country, along with officials from the ministries of trade, industries, production and finance.

The main issue highlighted by the business community was the lack of business facilitation centers and the absence of an effective operating system for one country.

Harun Aktkh Khan stressed that, in line with the Prime Minister’s vision, it was very important to facilitate industrialists and investors to accelerate economic activities. He warned that the unjustified intervention by state institutions can severely harm investment prospects and hinder economic growth.

The committee, which was recently established after complaints from the FPCCi Chambers of Commerce and Industry Union (FPCCI) against the provinces departments, income tax officials, customs authorities, and FIA, are charged with concealing a strategy to reduce bureaucratic transcendence. Mr. Khan has been appointed president to coordinate efforts between the stakeholders and the recommendation of solutions.

The Business community called for the fast digitization of organizational operations to reduce human interactions and eliminate estimated forces that often lead to exploitation.

While answering complaints, FBR officials claimed that the reforms were ongoing, and a digital complaint mechanism was developed. FIA officials have explained their legal responsibilities, but Haroon Akhtar Khan was boycotted, noting that the ground facts drew a different image, with continuous complaints of unjustified intervention in commercial issues.

He stressed that the establishment of business facilitation centers, the enhancement of the ease of doing business, and the development of supportive industrial policies was necessary to revive the industrial sector in Pakistan and sustainability.

The meeting concluded with the formation of many sub -committees in charge of collecting data on complaints against various government departments, with the aim of defining systematic issues and proposing implementable reforms.
