The Ministry of Maritime Affairs launched a complaint cell to the minister as part of the broader reforms aimed at enhancing transparency and improving the provision of services in the Pakistani marine sector.

The Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs opened the platform on Saturday, describing it as a step in line with the vision of Prime Minister Mohamed Shaybaz Sharif to enhance communication between government institutions and the public.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Chaudhry said, “The complaints cell reflects the government’s commitment to good governance and public service. It will serve as a bridge between the ministry and all stakeholders, including citizens, port users, and investors.”

The complaint cell will allow individuals to provide grievances, highlight operational issues, and to submit suggestions related to marine affairs, port management, shipping policies, and other areas under the Ministry’s jurisdiction. According to the ministry, the reactions collected will play a decisive role in improving policies, improving services, and ensuring a rapid solution of legitimate concerns.

Chaudhry stressed that the initiative aims to enhance transparency, accountability and the participation of stakeholders in maritime rule.

The complaint cell can be accessed online through the Ministry’s official website and will provide communication channels via email and phone. A dedicated team has been assigned to ensure rapid responses and effective follow -up procedures.

The Federal Minister said that the initiative represents a great milestone in the ongoing efforts of the Ministry to modernize the maritime sector and create a more efficient and consecutive governance framework around people.
