Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates): The Pakistani wing was opened at the Abu Dhabi International Fair for the year 2025 officially by Ambassador Faisal Nias Trezzi, Pakistan envoy to the United Arab Emirates (United Arab Emirates).
Speaking on this occasion, Ambassador Tarmizi praised the organizers for their dedication to the establishment of the Pakistan Pavilion and emphasized the pivotal role of art and literature in dropping a positive and soft image of Pakistan worldwide. The Pakistani diaspora members encouraged the wing to support the initiative. Ambassador Termesi also urged Pakistani schools across the United Arab Emirates to arrange visits to their students and teachers to the Pakistan Pavilion and the Wide Book Fair.
The National Book Corporation (NBF) was represented in this event by Dr. Kamran Jaharanger, Manager and Murad Ali Hamand, Al -Amin NBF. Ambassador Termesi also expressed the appreciation of Sarmi Khan from the World’s World Book for his personal efforts to ensure that Pakistan continues to be in the exhibition for the second year in a row.
Pakistan’s pavilion will remain open to visitors throughout the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, from April 26 to May 5, 2025.
During his visit, Ambassador Trezezi obtained a detailed tour of the exhibition by Ibrahim Muhammad Al -Salama from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Abu Dhabi. He visited all the stalls established by the United Arab Emirates government along with those in China, Saudi Arabia, Turkmenistan and Albania. The ambassador stressed the importance of cooperation between the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi and the National Book Foundation in Pakistan, especially in translating literary works and promoting them from both countries into each other’s languages.
Ambassador Termesi expressed his deep appreciation to the government of Abu Dhabi’s prominent contributions in promoting art and culture. Again stressed Pakistan’s great interest in working closely with local institutions to enhance its cultural presence in future events.
During his visit to the impressive national library and the archive open, Ambassador Termesi also moved his intention to cooperate with the National Library and Archives, Abu Dhabi, to exchange and share historical photos of leadership visits between the two countries, which dates back to the sixties.
