Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has resumed its cars shipments to the United States after the exports stopped for about a month in response to the imposition of President Donald Trump on a 25 % tariff on imported cars and light trucks.

The first batch of vehicles heading to the United States has left since the British stopped on Wednesday, which is a cautious return to a UK -based market for the UK car industry, owned by Tata Motors in India.

JLR stopped shipments in April, assessing how to reduce the cost burden on the tariff, which came into effect on April 3. The pause of the broader fears of industry about the height of commercial barriers and their impact on profitability and logistics reflected.

President Trump indicated that he intends to reduce the impact of definitions through an executive order that would compensate for costs using a mixture of credits and relief on other import duties.

In relevant developments, the British luxury auto manufacturer Aston Martin announced that it will divide the costs of additional tariffs with its customers in the United States while reducing the volume of shipments to the American market at the same time.

The United States is still the second largest destination for British -made cars after the European Union, representing nearly 20 % of exports, according to data from the SMMT. Britain’s auto industry employs about 200,000 people.
