In a brave act, a woman in Islamabad foiled a robbery attempt when she stopped a man from hijacking her car by grabbing the driver’s seat door, preventing the thief from escaping.
A video clip of the incident appeared, in which the woman was seen getting out of the car and closing the gate to her house.
As she was walking away from her car, the thief got into the car and tried to drive away. However, his attempt failed, as the woman initially stood in front of the car to prevent the man from escaping.
Later, she opened the car door and people nearby quickly came to help the woman after she started screaming. The robber was then pulled out of the car when another man, who came to help the woman, began hitting him.
The accident occurred in Sector B-17 in Islamabad. The police arrested the man.
Last month, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi directed law enforcement authorities to intensify efforts to eradicate crime in the federal capital, stressing the need for strict crime prevention measures and security measures.
The IGP reviewed the city’s crime statistics and preventive measures, and gave strict instructions for the speedy arrest of suspects involved in serious crimes such as robbery, murder and street crimes.
He stressed the importance of collecting strong evidence in ongoing investigations to ensure the success of prosecutions. Stressing the need to intensify efforts to address the highest priority issues, IG Rizvi urged officers to focus on crime-prone areas and maintain the safety and dignity of the people of Islamabad.
