Tony Todd, the American actor best known for leading the “Candyman” horror film series as the ghost with the hook, has died. He was 69 years old.
Todd’s death was confirmed by the actor’s representative.
A trusted presence in the genre over four decades, Todd’s string of credits includes such iconic titles as Alex Proyas’ iconic comic book “The Crow,” Michael Bay’s Alcatraz thriller “The Rock,” and the elaborate murder scene series “Final Destination.” His film debut came at the age of 32 in director Oliver Stone’s Academy Award-winning war epic “Platoon.” In “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” Todd applied makeup to play Korn, a commander in a defense force. Klingon and Worf’s brother (played by Michael Dorn in the series regular).
