Special report
KARACHI: A large memorial ceremony was held in memory of the martyr leader of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the martyr leader of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, and other oppressed martyrs of Palestine and Lebanon, at Khaneh Farhang, Islamic Republic of Iran, Karachi, on Monday.
Iranian Consul General Hassan Nourian, Director of Khana Farhang Iran Karachi Saeed Talbinia, First Deputy Emir of the Pakistani Islamic Group Dr. Mirajul Huda Siddiqui, Ayatollah Ghulam Abbas Raisi, Ayatollah Hassan Salahuddin, Allama Shahenshah Naqvi, deputy. The Secretary General of the Council of Shiite Scholars, Nazir Abbas Taqi, Maulana Asghar Daris, and other senior Sunni and Shiite scholars, social and academic figures, participated in this gathering.
The speakers paid tribute to Mr. Hassan Nasrallah and the Palestinian and Lebanese martyrs, and said that the martyrdom of these martyrs increased the strength of the Islamic Resistance Front against Israel. They praised the wise leadership of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and said that after the martyrdom of Sayyed Abbas Mousavi in 1992, he assumed the leadership of Hezbollah when he was thirty years old, and in a very short period he turned it into the most effective global resistance movement using his unique skills.
Dr. Meraj Al-Huda Siddiqi said that Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah is not the name of a personality, but rather the name of an idea and a movement whose challenge was shaking global imperialism. He said: If Israel thinks that with the martyrdom of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah it will end the resistance front against Zionism, then it is wrong, as the blood of the martyr does not go in vain, but rather gives new life to the nation. We believe that these sacrifices bring the tyrannical Israeli regime closer to destruction. He said: The martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah is not only the hero of Lebanon, nor only the hero of Muslims, but rather the hero of all humanity, because he sacrificed his precious life in support of the oppressed and defenseless people in the land of Palestine.
Nazir Abbas Taqvi said that in order to advance the mission of the martyrs of Jerusalem, our responsibility at this time is to try to achieve unity among the ranks of Muslims. Because when the enemy sees his failure, he tries to create division in the ranks of his opponent. This is an enemy tactic that has been tried many times. Creating discord between nations to pave the way for government is an old, proven formula of global imperialism. In the current situation, we need unity at all levels to defeat the tyrannical Zionist regime and liberate Palestine and its first destination.
A brief look at Hezbollah: Hezbollah, or the Islamic Resistance Movement in Lebanon, is a Shiite cultural, social, political and military group made up of twelve imams in Lebanon. It was founded in 1982 AD in order to confront the usurping Israeli regime. This group is part of an alliance known as the “Axis of Resistance” and is trying, with the support and leadership of Iran, to prevent the influence of Israel and America in the Middle East. Hamas in Gaza, Shiite militias in Iraq, and the Houthis in Yemen are among the other groups in this coalition.
This party began its activity against Israel with martyrdom operations. Then it increased its military power and began confronting Israel with Katyusha rockets and guerrilla wars. Other groups in this coalition include the Islamic movement Hamas, the Islamic Jihad movement in Gaza, Shiite militias in Iraq, and the Houthis in Yemen.
Lebanese Hezbollah is known as “the most powerful non-governmental military force” in the world and enjoys special love among the Lebanese people, including Shiites, Sunnis and Christians. This group gradually opened a foothold in the Lebanese political system, and with its political branch, the “Loyalty to the Resistance Faction,” it became one of the decisive political parties in Lebanon, which practically has the power to veto Cabinet decisions.
To date, there have been several military conflicts between Hezbollah and Israel, including this group’s all-out war with the well-equipped Israeli army in 2000 AD and the expulsion of the Zionists from Lebanon. The truth is that the Hezbollah movement was able to defeat the Israeli army and expel it from the territory of its country for the first time in the history of the formation of the usurping Zionist government.
The 33-Day War of 2006 is the second major confrontation between Hezbollah and the Zionist entity, which the Israelis know as the Second Lebanon-Hezbollah War, and which is called the 33-Day War between July and the Iranians. Israel began this war with the aim of disarming Hezbollah and freeing its two soldiers who were captured by Hezbollah.
After the Al-Aqsa operation on October 7, 2023, and due to Hezbollah’s support for Hamas and the residents of the Gaza Strip, clashes intensified between the Israeli army and Lebanese Hezbollah forces. Israel also brutally assassinated a large number of civilians in the Shiite area of Beirut, as well as a group of Hezbollah members and leaders, including its popular leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. Before Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the martyr Sayyed Abbas Mousavi was Secretary-General of this party, who was martyred at the hands of the Zionist regime on February 16, 1992, along with his wife and child.
