KARACHI: The Consulate General of Japan in Karachi in collaboration with Arts Council of Pakistan (ACP), Pakistan Japanese Cultural Association Sindh (PJCA) and Pakistan Japan Business Forum (PJBF) hosted Japan Festival (Japan Festival) 2024, a celebration. For Japanese culture, traditions and values ​​that brought the Karachi community together in a vibrant cultural exchange.
Held at the Arts Council of Pakistan, this festival included a range of activities, performances and exhibitions that showcased Japan’s rich cultural heritage and contemporary cultural influences.
Consul General of Japan, Hattori Masaru, addressed the audience, expressing his gratitude for the warm reception and highlighting the importance of strengthening cultural relations between Japan and Pakistan.
In his statements, he stressed that events such as the Japan Festival serve as an essential platform for strengthening the bonds of friendship and understanding between the two countries. “Japan-Pakistan integration is the main theme of this year, basing it on Japanese culture while also connecting with the local community. We hope that through this we can enhance mutual understanding and create a sense of familiarity between our two countries.”
The ceremony was attended by Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab as the chief guest. Speaking to the guests and audience, the Mayor appreciated the efforts of the Japanese Consulate in promoting cultural activities for the people of Karachi and proudly presented the Freer Hall for the Japan Festival 2025.
