SNGPL cracks down on gas theft; 186 illegal communications were cut across the regions – Trendy Blogger

Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has intensified its campaign against gas theft, carrying out large-scale raids in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad. During the operations, the company cut 186 illegal gas connections and imposed fines amounting to Rs 7 million on violators.

According to media reports, in Lahore, SNGPL teams disconnected 21 illegal gas connections and four connections for compressor misuse. Fines totaling Rs 2.88 million have been imposed on those involved in the gas theft.

Faisalabad witnessed seven illegal disconnections and one compressor-related violations, resulting in fines of Rs 0.06 million. In Sheikhupura, three illegal connections were terminated, and fines worth Rs 3.7 million were imposed on violators.

In Gujranwala, authorities cut an illegal connection and imposed fines totaling Rs 0.10 million. Likewise, in Bahawalpur, one illegal connection and 18 compressor-related violations were addressed.

The Multan operations resulted in the disconnection of 14 illegal gas connections, in addition to three violations due to misuse of the compressor. In Sahiwal, two illegal connections were cut, with fines of Rs 0.18 million imposed on violators.

Karak witnessed the largest crackdown, as 111 illegal gas connections were cut off. Fines worth Rs 0.10 lakh were imposed and six FIRs were registered against those involved in the gas theft.

SNGPL has reiterated its commitment to tackling gas theft and ensuring fair and uninterrupted supply to its customers. The company continues to implement strict measures to protect its network and hold violators accountable.
