Based on the best-selling novel “Bride Squad Runaway” by Caroline Grace Cassidy and Lisa C. Curry, the feature film will feature Ellis as feisty, commitment-phobic sports journalist, Lauren, who embarks on a road trip across Ireland with two best friends after one . They left her at the altar.
Jade Jordan (“The Virtues”) is in talks to star as Lauren’s friend Ava, who is grieving the recent loss of her mother, while Amy De Brun (“Jason Bourne”) will play Kate, who is grappling with balancing her life. Grace Cassidy and Carrey are adapting the book, which will be directed by Pollyanna McIntosh (“The Walking Dead”). Vico Films, Cormac Fox and Colmán Mac Cionnaith (“The Young Offenders”) are producing.
“Ditched” will likely be filmed on location in Dublin and Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way.
