BEIJING: The Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing, in collaboration with the Board of Investment (BoI), successfully hosted the third in a series of sector-specific business-to-business (B2B) matchmaking meetings. The event focused on promoting joint projects and investment partnerships in the animal feed and fruit and vegetable processing sectors.

The event included insightful presentations, one-on-one meetings between companies, networking opportunities, and the signing of 13 memorandums of understanding worth approximately US$250 million. More than 150 fruitful business-to-business meetings were held, including 30 virtual engagements, providing a strong platform for Pakistani and Chinese companies to explore partnerships and expand trade in these priority sectors.

In his speech, Ambassador Khalil Hashmi highlighted the strong trade relations between Pakistan and China and emphasized the strategic importance of the agriculture and food processing sectors. He noted that the event underscored Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its trade relations with China, with a focus on creating opportunities for direct connections and long-term partnerships.

Ambassador Hashmi also emphasized Pakistan’s position as a leading producer of a variety of fruits, vegetables and animal products, noting the country’s vast agricultural resources. He highlighted Pakistan’s investor-friendly policies, such as 100% foreign equity ownership, exemption from customs duties, and providing a healthier business environment. The company remains firmly committed to innovation and setting industry standards for quality and service in the country’s digital landscape.
