KARACHI: Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said that the government of Pakistan and the government of Sindh have always embraced foreign investors. A press release said that the Sindh government is working through active public-private partnership mode and full facilities in all respects will be provided to investors on public-private partnership basis.
Addressing the Sindh Investment Conference held at a local hotel in Karachi, Sindh Senior Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transport, Sharjeel Inam Memon, said that Chinese investors are interested in investing in the medical city and transport sector in Karachi. He said that President Asif Ali Zardari, on behalf of the Sindh government, extended full support to Chinese investors.
He said that Sindh is the best region for foreign investment because it has the ability to provide cheap electricity based on Thar coal to the country for two hundred continuous years, in addition to the fact that it has become a center for many companies that work practically in providing green energy within Sindh. .
“Farmers will get huge benefits from co-farming as the latest technologies will help them achieve maximum return from limited water availability,” Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said.
He said that combining Chinese technology with opportunities in Pakistan is the way forward for further development. He pledged that the Sindh government would provide complete security to Chinese investors, and expressed his wish that these opportunities would continue to flourish.
Speaking during the ceremony, Minister of Energy, Regional Planning and Development Syed Nasir Hussain Shah warmly welcomed the Chinese investors and the Consul General of Turkey present on the occasion. He appreciated the efforts made by the Investment Department to organize the investment conference and assured full cooperation on behalf of the Sindh government with international investors.
“Sindh provides investment opportunities in the energy, industry, agriculture and transportation sectors,” said Syed Nasir Hussain Shah. The Sindh government not only welcomes Chinese investors but also welcomes all international investors and extends full cooperation and facilities to all investors.
At the beginning of the conference, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh on Investment and Public-Private Partnership Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar welcomed the investors and other distinguished guests participating in the investment conference and explained the aims and objectives of the conference.
