Tom Holland appeared on a Christmas-themed episode of the podcast “Dish” and was asked how it felt to act opposite his longtime girlfriend Zendaya. The two have starred in three Spider-Man films, and will spend much of 2025 on film sets together as the stars of a fourth Spider-Man film and Christopher Nolan’s mysterious new film.
“Studios like it. One hotel room. Separate drivers. We’re not crazy now. Listen, it’s business, okay?” Holland quipped when asked about being Zendaya’s co-star.
“Oh God, yes. It’s a saving grace. Yes, the best thing that’s ever happened to me,” he added in a more serious tone. “It’s that perfect thing when you’re on set and the director will give you a remark that maybe you don’t agree with, or that I know you don’t particularly like.” Special, it’s just the familiar look of you both loving each other, I can’t wait to talk about it later.
Zendaya previously gushed to Vanity Fair about working with Holland and said it’s no surprise to be scene partners together.
“It’s actually weirdly comfortable,” Zendaya said. “It’s like second nature, if anything. You feel more secure with the person you’re acting next to. I love working with him. He’s so talented, so passionate about what he does. He always gives things a thousand percent, even if he’s completely worn out. I’m I really appreciate that about him. It feels so natural. That’s literally how we met, in a chemistry read.
Holland and Zendaya will star opposite Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron and more in Nolan’s new film, which is scheduled to open in theaters on July 17, 2026 from Universal Pictures. Holland told the “Dish” hosts that he hasn’t seen the script for the movie yet.
“It’s very quiet,” Holland said. “He’s loosely pitched what he is. When he’s ready, he’ll announce what he is.”
Holland previously told “Good Morning America” that Nolan offering him the role “was like the phone call of a lifetime,” adding: “It was reminiscent of getting a call about a Spider-Man movie 10 years ago. It’s amazing to me. I’m proud “Very much and I’m really excited.”
