Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has directed the authorities to bring tax defaulters into the tax net and impose strict action against non-compliance. These directives were issued during a major review meeting focused on enhancing revenue collection, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Information, Radio and Television.

At the meeting, officials provided updates on the installation and monitoring of video analytics in the sugar industry, a measure aimed at improving transparency and efficiency. The Prime Minister stressed that the government’s initiatives to digitize the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) will bring significant financial benefits to the national exchequer.

The Prime Minister also called for strict and indiscriminate measures against tax evasion and non-reporting by sugar factories, reaffirming the government’s commitment to accountability and fair taxes. He directed speedy completion of FBR’s value chain digitization efforts and urged rapid implementation of video analytics in cement and tobacco industries to scale up revenue generation initiatives.
