The British Academy has revealed the nominees for its 2025 Rising Star Award for emerging on-screen talent, the only BAFTA film honor to be voted on by the public.
Announced more than a week before the full line-up of BAFTA nominations is revealed on 15 January, the latest line-up of Rising Star nominees – the award’s 20th edition – includes some of the most talked-about names of the past year in film. The five-person roster consists of Marissa Abella (“Back to Black”), Jharrel Jerome (“Unstoppable”), David Johnson (“Alien: Romulus”), Mikey Madison (“Anora”), and Nabhan Rizwan (“ in”). Camera). The nominees were announced at the Savoy Hotel in London by Jack O’Connell, who was himself a Rising Star winner in 2014 and starred alongside Abella in Back to Black.
