ISLAMABAD: Admiral Muhammad Saleem has been promoted to the rank of Vice Admiral with immediate effect, a press release said.
Vice Admiral Muhammad Saleem received a commission in the Operations Branch of the Pakistan Navy in 1991. The Flag Officer graduated from the Pakistan Naval War College, Lahore, and the National Defense University, Islamabad. He has also completed a Masters in Public Policy from the National Defense University and an International Electronic Warfare Management course from the UK.
The Admiral has an illustrious career and extensive experience in various command and staff appointments. His key command appointments include Commander of Submarines PN HAMZA and HORMAAT, Commander of 9th Auxiliary Minehunting Squadron, Commander PNS BAHADUR and Commander KARACHI.
His key appointments include Commander Submarine Staff (Operations), Director Naval Operations Plans and Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Personnel) at Naval Headquarters, Islamabad. He also performed the duties of Director General of the National Intelligence Academy in Islamabad. Vice Admiral Muhammad Saleem also served as the Administrative Director at the National Defense University, Islamabad and the Pakistan Naval Attaché in India. The Admiral is currently serving as Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Training and Personnel) at Naval Headquarters, Islamabad.
In recognition of his meritorious service, the Admiral was awarded the Crescent of Excellence (Military) Award.
