KARACHI: Many simple and wonderful events were held on Thursday to commemorate the birth anniversary of Shaheed Hakeem Muhammad Saeed, the martyred founder of Hamdard Foundation Pakistan and Hamdard University (HU), at Hekma City, the main campus of the university. press release.
The day began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an at the shrine of Al-Hakim Saeed, after which Al-Fatihah was recited by the students and employees of the university, led by the Vice President of the University, Professor Dr. Sayed Shabib Al-Hassan. A memorial service was then held at Hamdard Public School, which was also attended by Hakim Saeed’s daughter and Heliopolis University Chancellor, Mrs. Saadia Rasheed.
The chief guest on this occasion was Prof. Dr. Ehsana Dar and the guest of honor was Accountant General of Sindh Babar Khan. Other prominent figures attending the occasion included Vice President of Heliopolis University, Professor Dr. Shabib Al-Hassan, and Registrar Kaleem A. Ghias, and Director of the Hamdard Foundation of Pakistan, Syed M. Arsalan, HFP Advisor Sumaira Javed, Syed Mansoob Ahmed, Shakila Khurram, and Saleem Farooqui. And Alia Kashif Azimi.
Mrs. Saadia opened an exhibition of calligraphy pieces prepared by university students and organized at the House of Wisdom. She expressed her happiness with the high quality of some of the paintings displayed.
On this occasion, a brief overview of the life and achievements of the martyr Al-Basira was read. Hakim Saeed – who was instrumental in reviving Unani medicine in Pakistan and launching a number of educational institutions, business and charitable ventures – was born on January 9, 1920 in Delhi. He was assassinated by unknown gunmen on October 17, 1998.
