The Elon Musk social media platform announced on Tuesday the launch of digital payment services and the click of VISA.
The service, called X Money account, will allow users to transfer money between traditional bank accounts and digital portfolios, as well as pay immediate payments similar to Zelle or Venmo.
“The launch is in line with the broader Musk plan to convert X into a financial ecosystem, and it expands beyond social media,” said CEO Linda Yakino in a post on the platform.
X Payments LLC has obtained financial licenses in 41 US states, and is registered in the Fincen Inclusion Network. The service is expected to be launched in the first quarter, with additional financial partnerships.
In Pakistan, X is still largely restricted since February 17, 2024, when the IHC Islam Court (IHC) has set on February 6, 2025, as the next session of the seam challenging the embargo. The government argued that X did not comply with legal directives, which justifies continuous restrictions.
