Islamabad: The cabinet in Punjab, led by Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz, has taken many major decisions, including approval of the Ramadan package of 30 billion rupees aimed at benefiting from 30 million people and employing nearly 6000 individuals.
The Council of Ministers approved the “NigahBan Ramadan” package, an initiative of 30 billion rupees to support low -income families during the Holy Month. Starting next year, the government will provide the ATM card for the package, allowing people to receive 10,000 rupees at home without waiting in long lines.
In another important step, CM Maryam Nawaz revealed a new policy aimed at attracting investors and making Punjab a center for manufacturing. Politics aims to simplify bureaucratic processes and provide a set of incentives for project owners. “Investors must come, create industries, start working while they will follow legal procedures after that,” she said.
The Council of Ministers also approved the “Zero Time to start” policy for SEZS, industrial real estate, and small industrial real estate, facilitating faster issuance than the NOCS certificates and creating a more suitable environment for business.
Maryam affirmed the government’s commitment to providing industrialists with every possible facility and simplifying the preparations for industries. She added: “We will simplify the complex processes to create industries and ensure that they are easier and more suitable for business.”
On the law enforcement front, the Council of Ministers authorized the employment of 5,960 Constables. In addition, the mass transportation system will provide free travel for private and the elderly. A new student travel card will also be presented, while tram service plans have been discussed.
In a major health care decision, the Council of Ministers approved 580 million rupees to purchase the “Cryoblelation” machine, providing alternative treatment for cancer patients. In addition, the funds are allocated to upgrade special education centers throughout the province, with a focus on accessibility and disability facilities.
The Council of Ministers approved special transportation services for persons with disabilities and authorized the employment of 127 jobs in the mass transport authority in Punjab. The Prime Minister also announced plans to employ 87 employees of the Children’s Protection and Welfare Office and increase the minimum health positions to 65 years.
Other approvals included employing employees for 25 jobs in information and communications technology specializing in the Ministry of Health Education and Medical Education, 4 jobs in Danish schools in Tunsa and Manikira, and additional grants to fill in vacant positions.
The Council of Ministers also authorized the employment of 500 employees under the traffic management plan for Maurized and the amendments based on the 1965 car decree to implement the Excel Road Management System in Punjab.
In a move to support wheat farmers, the Council of Ministers agreed to provide 1000 grams for free instead of land revenues. In addition, it was decided to replace 353 cars of 1122 vehicles, starting with the replacement of 117 ambulances in the first stage.
