President Zardari praises the economic growth in China and its innovation

President Asif Ali Zardari affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its strategic and economic relations with China, noting the country’s developments in technology, industry, space and agriculture as major areas of cooperation.

Speaking in an interview with Chinese Central TV (CCTV) during his recent visit to China, Zardari highlighted the geographical proximity in Pakistan and a wide partnership with China as decisive factors in benefiting from the Chinese experience of economic growth.

Zardari reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast support for China and expressed his appreciation for its fixed friendship, especially in times of crisis. He described China’s achievements in science and technology as a positive force for the global economy, adding that Pakistan is keen to integrate Chinese developments to improve agricultural productivity, water management and climate flexibility.

He pointed out that the unique crops in Pakistan are still much lower than China and urged more cooperation in this sector.

Discussing Chinese cooperation in space technology, the President said that Pakistan aims to expand its capabilities through Chinese partners, describing it as a “good thing” for Pakistan’s technological progress. He also praised China’s economic projects (CPEC) to accelerate infrastructure and communication development, which transforms the economic scene in Pakistan.

During his meetings with the Chinese leadership, Zardari discussed industrial cooperation, setting plans for specialized industrial gardens for Chinese institutions that employ Pakistani workers while enabling Chinese executives to work away. He described China as a friend in Pakistan in all weather and repeated the importance of benefiting from Chinese technology for future generations.

Zardari also praised the rule of President Xi Jinping, describing him as a “strong and fixed leader” who has greatly developed an economic position in China. He rejected global concerns about China’s rapid growth, saying that Pakistan welcomes China and has established a policy of non -interference in global affairs.

Regarding regional cooperation, Zardari expressed his confidence in the SCO Cooperation Organization (SCO) under the leadership of China, expecting to play a greater role in global economic and security frameworks. He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s historical relations with China, as it highlighted centuries of trade, cultural exchange and mutual trust between the two countries.

The President’s visit is strengthening Pakistan in the long term in economic cooperation with China, especially in technology, industrial development and agricultural modernization, as the two countries continue to deepen their strategic economic partnership.
