China and Pakistan have reached an agreement to create a joint laboratory to innovate the bacterial innovation of wheat and biological education, with the aim of promoting wheat seeds and relevant sectors.
Professor Leo Dongcheng, Dean of the Hubo College of Agriculture, highlighted the genetic diversity of bacterial wheat resources between the two countries due to the various geographical conditions. “There is great potential to improve the diversity of wheat by exchanging genetic material,” he said.
Liu noted that China has strengths in basic research and molecular education, while Pakistan has experience in cultivating culture and tissue culture. Cooperation is expected to enhance the efficiency of wheat diversity development through resources and common experience.
