The Anti-Narcotics Forces, while carrying out 10 operations across the country, seized 643 kg of drugs and arrested 10 accused including a woman, a spokesman for the Anti-Narcotics Front headquarters said here on Thursday.
He informed that 643 kg of drugs worth more than 80 million rupees were seized from the possession of 10 accused, including a woman, who were arrested from different areas.
About 2.4 kg of hashish was recovered from the possession of an accused near his arrest near an educational institution located in Chaklala 3 Scheme of Rawalpindi city.
Meanwhile, another 170 grams of hashish was recovered from the possession of an accused who was arrested near a university in Peshawar.
In the third operation, 97 grams of hashish were seized from the possession of a drug dealer in a slum area near a school in Faisalabad.
About 200 intoxicating pills were recovered from two suspects who were arrested in two operations near a college and university in the satellite city of Quetta.
The arrested accused admitted to supplying drugs to students of educational institutions.
The spokesman further informed that in another operation, 24 kg of opium and 2.4 kg of hashish were seized from a vehicle intercepted near Toll Plaza Islamabad Expressway and one of the accused was arrested.
Another 2.4 kg hashish was recovered from an accused who was riding a motorcycle on Rawat Road, Rawalpindi.
Meanwhile, Al-Nusra Front personnel also recovered 244.8 kg of opium and 357.6 kg of hashish from a vehicle intercepted near Samundri Junction in Faisalabad. At least two suspects were arrested during the operation.
In another operation, 66 grams of heroin were seized in a parcel reserved for the Maldives at a courier office located on Faisal Road, Karachi.
In the latest operation, 8 kg of hashish was found in the possession of an accused who was arrested near Qasim Chowk in Hyderabad.
Separate cases have been registered under the Anti-Narcotics Law against the arrested accused, and investigations are still ongoing.
