Dubai, Oct 15 (APP): The special networking event, ‘Pakistan Night’, held at the Pakistan Society in Dubai as part of GITEX Global 2024 activities on Tuesday, highlighted the growth opportunities of the IT sector.
Organized to strengthen connections between technology professionals and business leaders, the event attracted hundreds of technology executives of different nationalities, providing a unique platform for collaboration and exchange of ideas. Sheikh Mani bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum honored this occasion as the chief guest. The ceremony was also attended by Ghanem Al Falasi, Senior Vice President of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Dubai Silicon Oasis, and a number of Emirati dignitaries.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tarmzi, expressed his gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for providing such an important platform through GITEX. “With events like these, we can significantly increase our IT exports and showcase Pakistan’s technological potential on the global stage,” the ambassador said.
He also stressed the importance of leveraging international platforms to boost Pakistan’s growing technology industry and expand its global presence.
On behalf of the Government of Pakistan, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Minister of State for ICT Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Ambassador Tirmizi, thanked GITEX Global for declaring Pakistan the Tech Destination of 2024.
The Ambassador highlighted the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications (MoITT), Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), Pakistan Software Houses Association (PASHA) and Private Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) to jointly work towards strengthening the IT industry in Pakistan. .
Ali Zeb Khan, Dubai Trade and Investment Consultant, during his speech, welcomed IT delegates from USA, Egypt, Iran, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Tanzania, Korea and UAE for fruitful interaction and business-to-business matchmaking with Pakistani companies.
He encouraged foreign business leaders and IT professionals to visit the Pakistan Pavilion at the Dubai World Trade Center during the currently ongoing GITEX Global Exhibition where 24 Pakistani exhibitors will showcase the country’s latest technological innovations and digital solutions.
Zeb highlighted the potential of Pakistan’s IT sector and the vital role of networking events in enhancing trade and investment opportunities. He stressed the need for greater collaboration between international technology professionals and Pakistani companies to drive innovation and growth.
Representatives from Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) and P@SHA (Pakistan Information Technology Industry Association) noted that a successful Pakistan Night will greatly help in enhancing collaboration between companies and achieving tangible results.
