The government decided to stop using methyl bromide immediately to evaporate rice shipments, allowing imported countries to make evaporation according to their own standards.

This shift in politics, expected to help the exporters of Pakistani rice, will help reduce export costs and improve competitiveness in global markets.

Methyl bromide is a wide spectrum evaporation used for the pests that are transmitted by soil and post -harvest treatments. However, it has been classified as a major substance to excite ozone, prompting the gradual disposal in many countries.

The decision was taken during a meeting at the Ministry of Security and National Research, headed by Secretary, Wasim Ajmal Chaudhry. Representatives of regional authorities, private companies and multinational companies attended the meeting, which focused on addressing the objections of Pakistani rice exports to Europe.

The Ministry of Food stated that eliminating the costs of evaporation will make Pakistani rice more affordable at the international level. The meeting also reviewed long -term requirements for the Cedar Exporters Association and discussed measures to ensure a fair transparency and trade. Officials have pledged to strict scientific monitoring of import conditions, which are scheduled to be imposed during the next two weeks.

The Ministry also announced a campaign on the mafia spraying and corrupt practices in agricultural trade, with the aim of improving Pakistan’s global reputation as a reliable source of rice.

The Ministry has repeated its commitment to strengthening the agricultural economy in Pakistan and expanding export potential through compatibility with international safety and environment standards.
