The Senate Telecommunications Communications Committee has raised concerns about the National Roads Authority (NHA), which collects the tax tax on an incomplete road on a 17 -km length of Rajarasti to Umekot.
During a meeting chaired by Senator Berviz Rashid in the House of Representatives, Senator Bogo Bhail stressed the collection of early losses and low building materials used in the project.
He also pointed out that although the payments were received, NHA failed to build new bridges for the villages, rather than relying on old structures.
The head of NHA has informed the committee that the 154 km road project started in 2011, with a completion of 100 km so far. He emphasized that the Toll group started on January 23, 2025, but was suspended on January 30, 2025, after notice. The width of the road has been expanded from 5 meters to 7.3 meters, with an additional shoulder 2 meters, and the remaining work is expected to be completed with quality guarantee.
The NHA committee directed a third -party evaluation of the project and sent a team from Islamabad to inspect the ongoing work.
The meeting also addressed the security concerns of foreign companies operating in Pakistan. The president of NHA stated that a Chinese company operates in Chicarbur and receives improved security. He recognized the continuous security challenges in Sind, Baluchistan, and Khabar Bakhtongua, especially near the Afghan border.
The most prominent Senator Seif Allah, the most prominent issues of road congestion in Sihuan Sharif, and recommended the expansion of a tight extension of 1.5 km. The committee supported his proposal, and the Ministry of Communications committed to start expanding.
