Attention was transferred from Latry Premiers at Paramount Austin to independent film and television projects that make up the majority of the team, The South by Southwest Film & TV Mestival has announced the jury awards for the release of 2025.
Amy Wang “Slanted” won the narrative advantage, where the bonus of the color and objectivity of the comedy at high school with the feelings of “The Mortance”. Wang, who also wrote the continuation of “Crazy Rich Asians”, challenges beauty standards in a white culture, imagining in a Chinese American teenager (Shirley Chen) very desperate to elect the party queen that is undergoing a radical identity rebuilding (played by McKenna Grace Post-Pharration). The teenager has the insecurity immediately with white concession privileges, but he is not absolutely prepared for negative aspects.
“This irreversible excitement that is not shaken is looking at the ethnic identity in a new bold and skinny way,” said the jury (which consists of Rebecca Ford and Ryan Latanzio. Diverse Clayton Davis owns), praising “the ability to be exposed to the exit in extracting her personal experience.” The trio also awarded the special jury prizes to “Fucktoys”, the producer of the producer, Annapurna Sardam and “Fantasy Life”, Amanda Pitt.
Benjamin Flaiheri has topped the documentary feature competition, which will definitely attract more attention to the topic of the film: the addiction referral industry in America’s fraudulent, where the safety of patients is not necessarily priority. According to the jury, “The director shines greatly in profit -based recovery work, which dates back a billion dollars, even when sympathy and urgency brings his subjects, which he discovers explicitly as they are as they are in hope.”
SXSW also created the “Howl Of Fame” for the best of the best dog performance, given for Indy, Midnight Breakout “Good Boy”, a horror movie narrated by A Dog’s POV.
The festival also gives prizes to the public in all groups, although the vote continues through Saturday, March 15th, and the winners will be announced this week.
