The Ministry of Defense revealed that 10 airports across Pakistan are not currently operating, as some have been closed for more than a decade. A written response was disclosed to a question asked by Mna Sophia Saed Shah at the National Assembly.
The List of Non-MUPRAFANAL AIRPORTS Includes Khuzdar (Closed SINCE 2002), Muzaffarabad (2006), Rawalakot (2006), Bannu (2002), Parachinar (2002), Jiwani (2004), OMARA (2010), Sehwan Sharif (2010), Sibi (2010), and dera ismail khan (2021).
According to the ministry, these non -operational airports have a total of two officers and 65 employees, with a total monthly salaries reached more than 12.5 million rupees.
The Ministry of Defense also dealt with the issue of private airlines that work on secondary roads as shown in the National Aviation Policy 2023. The policy that allocates the scheduled transport companies allocates at least 5 % of their ability to high school or airports.
However, three private airlines were found in violation of these instructions. The Pakistani Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) issued notifications and penalties that caused airlines for their failure to comply with politics.
PCAA emphasized that secondary road operations depend on the demand for passengers and goods. Despite these challenges, power will continue to pressure airlines to work on smaller ways to improve communication.
