DHL Express, a section of Deutsche shipments in Germany, has announced that it will temporarily suspend all companies’ shipments to the consumer (B2C), which is worth more than $ 800 for individuals in the United States, noting the new US customs regulations that slow down clearances.
The company said, as of April 21, is a direct response to the updated American customs rules, which now requires official entry to all shipments of more than $ 800 in value. Previously, the official customs input threshold reached $ 2,500, but was reduced on April 5.
While B2C shipments of more than $ 800 will be stopped, DHL explained that B2B business shipments have not been suspended. However, they may face delays in treatment due to new customs procedures.
Shipping less than $ 800 is not affected by companies or consumers.
“This step is a temporary scale,” DHL stated on its website. Although the same notification was not historian, its identification data indicates that it was collected on Saturday.
Last week, DHL responded to Reuters inquiries, saying that she would continue to process shipments from Hong Kong to the United States according to updated regulations. The company added: “We will work with our customers to help them understand the changes that were planned on May 2 and adapt to it on May 2.”
The logistical transformation comes in the wake of escalating commercial tensions. Hongkong Post recently suspended the goods of goods to the United States, accusing Washington of “bullying” after the United States canceled commercial benefits free from the customs tariffs that arise from China and Hong Kong.
