In response to the escalation of global trade conflicts, Türkiye has announced a shift towards a more dynamic approach in managing its economy. Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz stressed that the negative economic policies “Autopilot” are not sufficient in the current climate of uncertainty. He highlighted the concerns that countries that lose access to the American market, especially China, may redirect surplus goods to Türkiye, which may affect the local market.
The Minister of Commerce, Omar Balla, strengthened this position, saying that Türkiye will actively defend its location in the market and will not allow it to be used as a land to dump excessive goods from other countries. Both officials affirmed Türkiye’s commitment to the use of international trade regulations to protect its economic interests.
