Twitter, which is now renamed as X, can be completely accessible in Pakistan after it was banned for more than a year.

The Pakistani Communications Authority (PTA) has officially restored on Wednesday, announcing that users can now access the platform without using virtual private networks (VPNS).

Reconstruction reports began to appear immediately after midnight, as users all over the country indicated that the application was practical on mobile and web networks. PTA is now formally admitted to lifting restrictions.

This development represents the end of the prolonged ban on the platform, which prompted widespread criticism from digital rights activists and civil society groups. The ban, which was imposed in 2024, was largely limited by a general discourse on the platform unless it was reached through VPNS.
