The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has notified a power tariff increase of Rs 3.03 per unit for K-Electric consumers under the July 2024 Fuel Cost Adjustment (FCA).
The revised tariff will be applied to electricity bills for the month of December 2024, as per the notification.
She added that the new electricity prices will apply to all categories of consumers except electric vehicle charging stations, lifeline consumers, and prepaid meter consumers.
Earlier, the city’s sole power supplier – KE – had sought a tariff hike of Rs 3.9 per unit to revise fuel prices in July.
The hike was approved a day after Nebra announced a refund of INR 0.8555 per unit for power supply to October billed consumers who paid higher electricity rates in August 2024 under the monthly fuel cost adjustment mechanism.
